A Still Summer's Night

 

The summer air seems stale

stagnant, silent, still

 


The sun’s so bright and the days so long

I spend all night a singing my song

 

 

A still summer’s night

silence carries through the air

the sky’s twilight shines

on the crashing tide

though I’m no where

near

 

As I sit, I listen

a whistlin’ wind

speaks of things forgotten

it is my only friend
