Held
May 3rd 2024
My whole world changed in a moment. The moment I went from being the middle to the oldest.
From being the friend to the Mother who has rules and boundaries and loves her daughter.
From coasting in my walk with God from age 9 to as my mother used to say “ meeting where the rubber meets the road”.
Almost 2 years and I have learned what it's like to be “ held”.
I don't mean in a relationship or seeing someone.
I mean knowing what it's like when it's the middle of the night.
It's you, the stillness and Jesus.
When tears, moans, sighs, sometimes the only thing you want say is “Hold me Lord”
You remember the older saints used to sing a song that had a line of “hold my hand Lord, hold my hand. While I'm on this tedious journey. I want Jesus to hold my hand.”
I didn't understand until almost the last two years. Now I do.
“Held” is a verb, a knowing, a confidence that God has everything handled. A peace, love, joy deep within that mere words cannot describe. Everyone and everything to God for his glory, praise and honor.
Amen
