The world had taught me to need
It has taught tme to bleed
It has taught me to sin
again, again, and again
It has taught me to laugh
at those who are hurting
It has taught me to decieve
those just looking for reprieve
It has given me a mask
to cover my hurt
it has given me a hunger
to only live a little longer
But what it couldn't give me
is love, satisfaction, and hope
Because those can only be given by my God.
