fishie

Frolicking in the deep blue sea

Scales flashing in the moonlight

Dancing through the current

Oh, what freedom, what joy

Curious, what is it?

A barrier with fish gathering

Being guided, lifted

Into the glorious rays of light

Wait, unable to breathe

Lying on a cold surface

Others around me, unable to cry out

Where am I? Oh, help me!

Lying on a table, sliced open

Guts and entrails hastily pulled out

Head brutally chopped off

All signs of life, gone

Seasoning sprinkled on

A little butter and a sizzling sound

Being heated and cooked

A spicy aroma fills the air

A hungry hand reaches out

A starved bright-eyed girl

Anxious to get her first meal in a week

Starved and for now full-filled

Life goes on...

Author's Notes/Comments:

I wrote this freshman year of high school I think...it's kinda morbid I suppose.
