Coffin Monologues

Walking into your presence
a shadow
attached to no light
Submit to the disregarding ache in your stomach
Only the dead speak
It took awhile for the words to ooze
from your festering wound
But the night was painted nonetheless
still ever so beautiful
The grass bowed down
as you stepped hastily into your car
into your head
reaching for all forms of consiousness
And what did you find?
Pillows eating dreams
Air eating breaths
Logic eating feelings
Put the black back where it belongs
Savor it.
it will be yesterday.
someday.
Cut the path as you'd like it
Write the eulogy on your forehead
with splintered wood
Just don't fall for it
Love now-a-days is way too over-rated
Shove the world deep into its dirt
and tell me what you find in it
Lie and say its worth it
I never wrote this down
and I'll only say it once
You lay wedged
in between
my chest
and my stomach
