This Kind of War

No one really knew your name then

But you were in the right place, at the wrong time

Love sounded like a harmonica by the fire and

you blew very hard

It nearly toppled you over.

You can wait for it if you'd like, she said, but I am a

logical lover

I know what I want, and I know how difficult it is to get it

So don't try to play me for a fool, she said

You're no different then the next one or the one before

You're just a girl with a significant amount of balls, thinking

you can conquer me like a continent

All the while, you know nothing of this kind of war

People die, doing this.

And I eat their remains like metaphors.
