Tiny Dancers

They hit the tin roof

tiny dancers

Making symphonies from the clouds

They seemed spiritual and happy

They made our clothes feel warm

One dripped off the ledge and landed on your arm

Your body reacted and hardened

You covered yourself and blushed cuz you

weren't wearing much that day

I looked at the overcast and pretended not to notice

But I sent a silent prayer and thanked God for the rain
