With Doses

Paint this callous evasion

with rain that falls upwards

The clouds have turned green and heavy

My heart grins with sarcasm at best

I knelt down for the prayer

that never left my mouth

They're gonna give us hope again

with silver knives and payment plans

And God forbid fools who make love to their ideas

We speak with force but we don't really know ourselves

This is sure to wane and smother out

Logic knocks, but we lay sleeping

with clenched fists

wet dreams and demons

Waiting, patiently impatient

Taking poisons in small doses

Give me a quick fix for destiny

before its faded

I suffer with disillusion

and impure extremeties

I reach for the faint lights of oblivion

aching for a future
