Drown

Dark Poetry

A light sees through the trees casting glows of eerie calm over the frozen lake.

Diamonds crack and sparkle the pavement underneath.

Understand--it is just a sight.

A blurred delusion within a failing dream.

Mindless eyes brave the scene and seek to destroy the fantasy.

Blood red are the petals that form upon me and the pieces of one beautiful crimson flower wilt.

Parched and crumbled remains sail across the frozen water as the air flows out steadily.

The ice chill blows the broken shards of myself away--I feel my life torn from me, scattered.

And so, as the light sees through, the wind dies painfully--the glow now searching for a brand new victim.

The iridescent stars light--shining--seen from the depths of realization, as another pair of dying eyes forever stare out from my freezing grave.
