Mars

I look at your face and wonder why,

everything has gone so wrong.

You're a star, that shines so bright,

your words come forth in song.

Such a gentle heart, soft spoken voice.

Nothing more could be asked.

A sweet smile and a believable lie,

who would have thought could mask?

The pain you feel and the days you suffer,

just to make us all so proud.

I see it happen in your eyes,

as the noise in your head grows loud.

Don't hide your pain, don't toss it aside,

I can see straight through your lies.

Don't suffer for us, don't suffer for me,

I hate to see you cry.

Your eyes, if anyone cared to look,

tell the story that is your life.

Your hands are worn, your fingers torn,

still you play through this recent strife.

Everything has built up to this,

your experiences through the years.

When you are gone, you'll realize,

the reasons for our painful tears.

Don't push yourself, any further,

than you believe you can go.

Don't worry of us, we care for you,

and if you need us, let us know.

There's nothing you could do, ever, at all,

to taint or break our hearts.

You've done all you can, and everything for us,

now let us do our parts.

Don't continue for us or quit in turn,

you need not care no more.

You need not prove to earn your wings,

for angels, like you, can already soar.
