The Day Is Blue In Pretoria

Folder:
The Lectern's Rise

Open the breathing sky, the day is blue
Currents are fleeting, earthly hours continue
To pass and entering thee make a walk, daily
Greetings exchanged, the west, glide the skies and flee
Brighter the blaze the sun, the fire, our lamp
Look down on city, and city, there a glorious map
Of road and houses stand and tree weep, dangling
In silence all the hours are coming and going;
Lost is the shadow, it sweeps not even narrowly
But here be smeared the full covering dim glory.
Here faces move still measuring them a gnomon;
Here stance be seen, how wide the earth, there lay upon
Sun and shadow's leaping ,even behind me
It follow tall as is, thy body is my body.
