Deluge

She woke in the middle of the night, heart hammering against her chest so rapidly she was afraid it would soon go still.

She took sharp breaths, and tried to make sense of the feelings that spilled.

Into her veins, into her being never to again leave her be.

From her eyes was a deluge of pain of things that never came to be.

Down to her knees she fell, Her arms hugging herself tight.

Legs still shaky from the dream last night, her lungs constriscted and her breathing was tight.

The eyes of the damsel must of broke because they were leaking.

It's a deluge, thats as simple as it can be said, a duluge of pain from the denial in your head.

Eyes staring into a mirror to see a reflection no longer recognized, the chalky skin, and dark bags under her eyes.

The creaking of the cabinet as it's slowly being opened, a bottle of Diphenhydramine being stolen.

A deluge of pills fighting there way down her throat, mayabe if she was in her right mind she might of choked.

You see her mind is gone now, a girl broken by another lie told by a guy who promised it would be different this time.

An exuberant gasp of relief as the last deluge of tears flowed from her eyes.

No more pain, no more lies.

Just a broken girl going to sleep for the last time.
