Ode For Inspiration

Folder:
Poems

Great poets of ancient liturature

send forth to my hollow head a

Muse so I may inscribe on parchment of

love and despair, happiness and plague.O Keats

a sonnet would be easy for you sir

Dante! no gift from you, master of the

Inferno?Horace,lord of Odes, you too

have nothing for me? Ovid,Lord Bryan?

Homer,Vergil,Boccaccio...nothing from you?

Dear Shakespeare 'tis your poetry! give

onto me the graceful power of your

ability.You too deny a

muse to me? O ancients your follower sees

O irony my muse implanted in

my prayer! Thank you gracious ones! I

am glad the ancient poets watch over me.

Author's Notes/Comments:

I had to do a Iambic pentameter poem for school. I couldn't think of a good topic to write it on, so I hoped for a muse, and the poets of old were just the inspiration.
