So far…

For once I can honestly say,
That I enjoy conversing today;
Finally, I have met someone
Whose discourse seems fun.

Yet all so close…

Although our ages may diverge,
Somehow we in thought emerge;
A Virginia native, you could be,
Still you have interest in me.

You are so far,
Yet I feel so close.

You intrigue me with your wit,
Which is rare, if I don't ignore it;
I admire you for your intellect,
And you make my mind erect.

Yet all so close…

You're sweet, strong, sophisticated,
By far the most kind and educated;
Hand and hand with just this all,
You leave me anticipating your call.

I am so far,
Yet you feel so close.

We covered politics, music, love,
Sex, work, and things to dream of;
We discussed the present and past,
My friend, why is the future last?

Yet all so close…

Elaborate closures end so soft,
Through the night, I dream aloft;
All that of a lady and humor
Entice me to see you sooner.

We are so far,
Yet both are so close;

So very close…
