Let the Kids In the Hood Play

What has my community come to,
We don't kick it like we used to do;
All in the struggle for success,
But we've failed to the very best.

And our children...
They suffer the most.

Why must we be so vain,
And live this life of loss and gain,
Because you can't win for losing,
And what's worse is what most parents abusing.

And our children...
They suffer the most.

Why can't we let the kids,
All of them in the hood play?
Why can't we let our kids,
Each one of them see a brighten day?
Why can't we let the kids,
All of them in the hood play?

Now you cannot tell me it's life,
Death come of those lives by knife;
With love comes hurt and pain
Perhaps agony if you go against the grain.

And our children...
They suffer the most.

Materialistic is who we have become,
Living in a realm of TV that we're not,
How can we ever survive at all,
If that lifestyle was designed for us to fall.

And our children...
They suffer the most.

Why can't we let the kids,
All of them in the hood play?
Why can't we let our kids,
Each one of them see a brighten day?
Why can't we let the kids,
All of them in the hood play?
