C. S. Lewis

Folder:
Junior High Prose

According to S.S. Lewis, Christians cannot know or enjoy heaven until we have attained everlasting life. He states that those who have not yet attained everlasting life are like a schoolboy who, while he studies Greek, cannot see a meaning behind it bue, later in his life he will revel in that knowledge. For the Christian who has not yet attained everlasting life,, God requires obedience. By continuing to obey, we draw closer to attaining everlasting life. This shows us that C.S. Lewis believes that to enjoy heaven we must first attain everlasting life and that to attain everlasting life we must walk in the way God would have us to walk.
