The Desire

The Desire
Have you ever had…The Desire?
The Desire so intense, that your heart felt like fire?

A fire to consume, a fire to burn
The Desire to trust God was your one and only yearn?

Then a knock at the door, the ring of the phone
A piercing thought that says, “You are all alone.”

Eyes roam the surface of circumstance
And you wonder will my life really get a chance?

And with a sudden rush of emotion, you want to cry
‘cuz you think everything you see will surely go awry.

The tears, the drama, the focus on shame
Only threaten to douse the intensity of the flame

So hold on wait, ‘cuz building this fire took too long
Instead open your mouth and sing a song

Then wait on His voice
Take a reality check…there is no other wise choice

Close your eyes and open your ears, He whispering, saying “you will find help.”
Release all your worry don’t put it on a shelf.

Focus, Trust Me, look at My face.
It’s shining saying, you will finish this race.

Don’t give up and you don’t quit
I’ve spoken…unlike man, MY promises are legit

Lay back, listen to His voice, you’ll find complete rest
Be strong and content for He knows best.
