Without You

Without You

Wrapped in pain, heart of ice,

Tears of longing, a smiles disguise.

A soul so empty, a heart-wrenching moan,

All those things since you've been gone.

Whispering breeze, it calls your name,

Tricks of my mind capture the blame.

In truth each stone, each tree, remind me of you,

And still times that pass, I wonder what I am going to do.

If I could only still this ache, this burning pain,

Forget the flashes that remain.

Faster and faster these memories tease,

And though I try to stop them they will not cease.

I draw my strength, I cannot fall

A full soul, chin up, standing tall.

Total change, life anew,

And I cry, for it is without you.
