breathless moments in pale moonlight
breathe my soul, breathe my life
holding on with careless hands
slipping away as quick as they can

little children everywhere
a game of chance
a game of dance
round and round the spiral staircase
running as fast as they can
trying to keep up the pace

run away to another land
run, run, as far as you can
grace and mystery are on your side
you can dream, you can hide

look to the stars
and tell me what you see
is it another world
or is it just you and me

hanging on to who we are,
tighter and tighter as the years go by
losing ground near and far
barely being able to stay up to par

I wish I may
I wish I might
keep on fighting
the one good fight

living a paradox
peeking in Pandora's box
taking chances
with stolen glances
in the end
it's all sin
but what does it matter
we aren’t coming back again

but wait a minute
it's not the end
simply put
it's where it all begins

so
live
live within
live without
scream and shout
