Tears fell from my eyes momma;

No light greeted me

like most angels said would do.

I didn't feel me slipping out of you.

I didn't feel any arms catching me.

Then I heard your shaking voice

calling my name from afar

so far.

I opened my eyes.

I reached for you

through people crowding around you.

I could see your tears

but couldn't wipe them off.

I could hear your cry

but I couldn't hush them.

Tears fell from my eyes momma:

Something ripped through my back skin

and I felt it growing.

Like a pilot in a parachute working in reverse,

I was jolted

lifted.

A blinding light wrapped around me

as air pushed me up the sky.

I opened my eyes.

I reached for you.

from the growing distance between us.

I could see you

as you become smaller.

I could hear your cry

as it becomes fainter.

I struggled to be free

of a force I couldn't fully see.

Then I heard sobs and hushes.

I turned my head.

Over my shoulder,

and through the light,

mummed angels looked at me.

Tears fell from my eyes momma.
