Do I have to go to school today?

I don’t want to miss mom’s cookie tray

I saw mom buy some flour and choco

She knows how much sweets drive me loco

Mom makes the best cookies in this town

And I’m glad, always the first to own

Not only cookies, but pies and cakes

There is always love in what she bakes

Even neighbors too would come and ask

She would share her recipes with bask

Yes I love my mom for cooking well

And for making my tummy all swell

I’ll pretend I have fever and colds

Surely she will believe me ten folds

For I will not miss the cookie tray

No, I will not go to school today

But I feel guilty lying to mom

If she gets mad she will be a bomb

But I cannot miss mom’s cookie tray

Do I have to go to school today?
