My eyes fixed upon the pillow

that I snatched from my sister's bed.

 

Slowly I caressed

its handsome shape.

 

I let it lie enticingly

on my bed

as I lighted a tranquil lamp.

 

The warmth

started to spread;

 

the flame started to dance;

bewitchingly;

jumping from my hand

to the pillow.

 

The climactic blazing

consumed the pillow

calling the attention

of the rightful owner.

 

I watched curiously

as my sister

desperately extinguished

the stubborn flame

and saved

her burnt-up pillow.

 

She left

with the remains.

 

I stayed▬

relieved,

gratified,

 

anticipating.
