Fire snake

Folder:
English poems

In fire, at land or underground

Silence profound

Binding her time

To do her crime

Body, bloody red or orange

Eyes white and strange

Beneath the fire

She waits in ire

There she lay, in the fire she hides

At her prey’s strides

Sharp fangs attack

Paralyzed snack

Triumphantly, with fiery eyes

In sweet reprise

She holds her prey

A kill away

The sun now sets and dawns at her

The killing’s spur

The fire snake’s want

Her prize to flaunt
