Of desire, irony and the lens of lies

Poems

Vast as the ocean is,

Darker still its depths,

Those who would flee...

Escape the relentless beating of the suns,

Pray, dive not too deep.

As you plunge headfirst into the cool dark,

The waves rise to rise to meet you, eager,

To quench your sunseared skin with its icy hunger,

To rob you of warmth you take for granted,

To feed a life as ageless as the skies.

You will find deserts come under many a guise,

As does paradise....

Those of desert thirst to dive,

Those of sea hunder to beach,

Ever afoot seeking pastures greener.

Demons of flame,

Devils of frost,

Illusions of anthropomorphisation,

Born of lesser minds

Seeking comfort in their form....

An inertia of imagination likening death.

As I merge with the eternal,

The panoply of preconceptions intertwine,

A gem radiant in its becoming,

A looking glass through which shines,

All that is as it is.

Desert, Paradise, beauty, cruelty,

Notions of petty earthedness,

In disentaglement, release of desire,

The ultimate hunger is fulfilled,

It appears god is not without a sense of humour.
