A dance with Death

A Dance With Death

"Dance with me", you cried to Death

And begged for him to succumb

"Take my hand, my flesh, my breath,"

With your whispers, you beckoned him to come.

But he came not when you pleaded-

Nor when you offered Him your soul,

He came when least expected-

And into Night's Darkness He stole.

He arrived and took you suddenly,

In the midst of Life's Breath-

Without warning he snatched you away,

And said, "Come dear child, and Dance with Death".
