Today i saw a leaf fall down from a tree

If only you could know what it means to me

To see it twirl around high in the sky

More free than any bird could ever fly



I wish you could truly see

How precious that leaf is to me

To see it float lighter than snow

If only you could know



This leaf has captured me

More peaceful than could really be

Followed it for a thousand hours

I wish you could know it's super powers



Up and down hills, across town twice

The leaf blows gently it has no price

Never touching ground, never letting go

If only you understood how it makes me glow



It's nearly midnight now

Little leaf has shown me how

These wonder i watch, i love them so

For someday the little leaf will grow



The leaf it silently lands

i hold up in shaking hands

Off it goes again, the wind will carry on

This day i wasted not, the leaf is never gone



Little leaf move on, it's dawn

This leaf has guided me so long

I would never ask for more

Little leaf has brought me to your door



Now i share with you

So lovely and so true

The tale of the little leaf

And how it ended all my grief
