I'm leaving now

But I'm looking behind

As the last two years

Run through my mind



To the friends I am leaving

I'll miss you all dearly

But there are others to meet

I see that quite clearly



It wasn't quite as bad

As we made it out to be

I had some great times

Despite my apathy



Yet I couldn't shake this feeling

Something wasn't right

I felt incomplete

In the darkness without light



There I could see God

There in your faces

But I could feel Him

Pushing me toward other places



There I was for a while

My eyes could not see

What world was out there

What was waiting for me



Sitting in the dark

I could finally see the light

And while it hurts so bad

I now know what's right



Now my seat will be empty

You won't see me here

God is leading me

There is nothing to fear



God has called me to this

Can you understand?

The time just came sooner

For me to let go of your hand



So now I'm leaving

Starting my journey anew

But just so you know

I'll always be with you
