My feelings seem immortal -

     there's so much I need to say

But I've tried to keep them quiet

     all locked up and put away.



I'll pull myself together,

     just give me a little time

To do the things I need to do

     to straighten out my mind.



My life has paused in darkness

     now searching for the light

I've been stationary for so long

     I feel I've lost the fight.



Why should there be a beginning

     followed by such a close end

It takes so much longer

     for a broken heart to mend.



You know how hard it is

     for me to say good-bye

Loving you is easy,

     but I'm so scared to try.



Sing the song of forever,

     loud and very clear

And make me believe

     that it'll never disappear.



The heartaches you have had

     are supposed to make you strong

So I'm sure I'll have a lot of love

     .....if you can wait that long.
