"The teachers should never stay for 8 hours at a university because it is meaningless. But, several authorities always pressurise the teachers to stay for 8 hours. Those who pressurise are not wise. A garment worker stays for 8 hours and s/he works and produces things. But, a teacher does not have to produce anything. The authorities should monitor if the teachers are taking classes, scrutinising scripts, attending meetings, counselling the students, etc. properly or not. They should be allowed to go home early so that they can study and research. It is madness to make them stay for such a long time. If a teacher sits at the desk for 8, 10, 12, or 14 hours, it has nothing to do with the development of academia."
