you never gave me a chance to explain

as you trampled all over my heart again

I know that I hurt you

but there isn't anything I can do

to erase the pain

I can't ignore the rain

falling down my face as I think of you

telling me that we are through

my situation is heavy as you know

yet you decided to go

what did you want me to do?

I asked you

the answers that followed were

things that couldn't occur

everything is beyond my control

you act like you don't know

what I go through

without you

communicating effectively about how I feel

had to let you know that my love was real

but you never gave me a chance to explain

so my heart is under your shoe again

as my mind tries to figure out why

you had to move on and I had to die...
