The Stories I Create

In my head I write wonderful stories. The words are always right, everything flows beautifully, theres triumph and tragedy. I see eagles that soar over endless meadows of wild flowers and beautiful tall grass, true cowboys and cowgirls, and stories of those who can't see the forrest for the trees. I write stories about my family and of love that lasts forever. The words come in the form of poems or stories that last for hours, the way they flow can make you laugh and then turn the page with a tear in your eye. These stories never come to me when I have paper and pen to write them down. One would think this would be okay, that I could write them another time. But when I sit with my pen poised the words never come out right. It isn't that I don't know the words. My Mom made sure I always would have the words to share. When I think I will write I sit and let my mind wander just to find myself lost in the world I create. Soon I realize that I have created a wonderful story of love or loss, of happiness or pain, about the world as I see it. But when I look at my page, not a word is written. So I set it aside for another story, another day. Maybe one of these days I'll write one down and the dam will be broken, maybe someday I'll write a story someone besides for me will want to read.

Sorry it isn't really a poem, But it is just something I wrote :o)
