Wanting Love

I loved her but, she doesn't love me

Maybe as a friend, but not as her man.

I'd kiss her but, it wouldn't mean anything

I'm not in the grand scheme, her plans.

I'd wish her well, but my emotions are trapped

Seemingly stuck in a cell, tied down and strapped.

I'd give her a gift, but I'm not her present

I'm stuck in the past, trying to be relevant.

It's sad you see the things I'd do

For someone who doesn't love me

Wouldn't return the favor, no reciprocity.

We'll let me try again, maybe she'll change her mind

I loved her, yet she still won't be mine.

The pain just won't subside.

I must have her by my side

Faithfully waiting for the day

When she will become my bride.

Move on they say

There's plenty of fish in the sea

And I tell them why get a bass

When I've got everything I need?

Correction. Everything I want.

Correction. Everything I could ever want

Correction. You
