The Knight

The stars had spread over the dark sky,

The moon was nowhere to be seen,

The Knight was patiently waiting ,

Unaware that the nature decided to be mean.

He sat on the cliff and gazed over the valley,

With soft whistles he hummed a song.

His thoughts took him to lands unknown,

Where he was reminded of all rights and wrong.

From time immemorial he had been walking on this earth,

He had been the companion of cowards and soldiers alike,

He had seen pain and suffering more than anyone,

But he provided comfort to all.

People feared him a lot,

they never want to see his face,

Yet they forget that he's the only friend,

Through which they can achieve their fate.

No one knew that knight's grievances,

Sometimes he would hate to see good people fall,

Yet it was his duty to take them with him,

No matter how good they were all.

He took a deep breath, and got up for work,

His pale white horse had been waiting for long,

He had to meet someone who was taking his last breath,

As he is infamously known as Death.
