May we be blessed to acknowledge all the wonders in our life that have thus far accrued…

and begin each day with a word of thanks…and thoughts of gratitude.

Today I’m thankful for having spent most of my life in middles…they are beautiful places to be…

I can see, from my place here in the middle….all the beauty surrounding me.

My love affair with the middle began long ago….with my family 

where I was born in the middle…the middle child of three.

Right now I’m in the middle of winter and all the artistry she brings…

able to enjoy the snow and cold…while looking forward to the Spring.

I’m in the middle of a marriage now entering it’s 38th year…

where everyday…a happy tune I hum…

as I look back fondly on where I’ve been…while anticipating what’s to come.

I’m in the middle of watching my children, grandchildren 

and great granddaughter grow up…through all their different phases…

and from my spot here in the middle…I’m astonished how every day amazes.

It is with utter joy at my age I can happily exclaim

I’ve been in the middle of so many birthdays, weddings, christmases…

vacations, dinners and family games.

Which means: 

Each morning I awake to find myself in the center of the dance of life

in the middle of what has been beautiful ballet…

I give thanks for the dance already completed…

as I prepare to dance the rest of my life away.
