Push It Down

drag the razor across the skin

feel it's silken bite dig in

die a bit, to live some more

let it sink it's leaden weight down to your core

this obsession works it's way into your mind

twisting, turning, hurting, and soon to bind

your will, your strength, your tranquil sea

this bloody romance cannot save me

it won't save anything, but only cause

you to realize some of your flaws

it won't bring you anything but pain

and in return you'll make it rain

the blood red tears rent from your skin

you'll tear the flesh and make it grin

a smile carved from flesh, bigger than your own

a smile carved in flesh, all the way to the bone

you'll wish you never picked up the blade

but now you have no choice but to wade

through the thickening scars overlapping your flesh

the ugly reminders that are starting to mesh

they're melding together and falling apart

they're becoming one, no longer art

where once they symbolized single moments in time

now they're too numerous, they intertwine

the moments become one of a whole

they're moments slowly decaying your soul

the bloodshed and sorrow are no longer alright

and now there's no one to save you from this plight

you tumble and stumble, but they pay no heed

"you've done this, you've said that",  they feel no need

to give you attention, they think that's what you want

they ignore it, they deplore it, and watch you turn gaunt

the sadness inside you has worn you away

pushing it down has made it decay

it's been too long since you've let it air out

it's been to long since you've managed to shout

about the troubles you feel, the anger inside

you push it all down and in there it hides

until one day the anger explodes

you've pushed it all down for far to long

you vent on loved ones, friends and enemy's alike

they all feel your wrath, none are safe from your strikes

the blood flows freely from all around

and now the pain it does abound
