Shoot Me A Smile

Give me a reason

I want to know where to begin

The changing seasons

Show me that I can no longer pretend

That you are exactly

Where I want to be

Give me a reason

To make the effort worth all the while

Shoot me a smile

Say "I'm sorry" and another Goodbye

I don't even know the reason why I try

To make it worth it all the while

You don't like to smile

And now you're a mile

Gone away, you never make this feel like home

Take a look now

See everything I've become how I'm supposed to be

But I can't get over the way it used to be

I hate the distance even though you are five minutes away

A telephone call is all I've ever needed in a day

Shoot me a smile

Say "I'm sorry" and another Goodbye

I don't even know the reason why I try

To make it worth it all the while

You don't like to smile

And now you're a mile

Gone away, you never make this feel like home

Shoot me a smile

These changing seasons are never worth the while

And I can't help but hope I'm in denial

That what I'm believing isn't the way it really is

Then you remind me that I'm farther away than I really ought to be

I'm running farther than I really ought to go...

It's begging to look like I am running out of hope

Shoot me a smile...maybe someday this will feel like home

Author's Notes/Comments:

This has a lot of hidden meanings behind it- it's partially about moving, partially about never recieving the phone call you always want, partially about never gettin the girl of your dreams...who lives only a block away
