The Voice

Haven’t you heard?

She shines so bright

That light that never stops shining

Her voice, so beautiful

It breaks through the darkness

My feet hesitates but that sweet melody brings me in

Her voice, so sweet

So familiar

Gentle as silk

It pushes me over

I feel the pressure run through my body

The enticement runs through me

Can’t you hear her?

Being pushed deeper and deeper into the darkness

Her light shines so bright

Curiosity fills me up

I try to catch it

That voice so sweet

So intimate

Why does it feel nostalgic?

In a trance I follow the light through the darkness

Her voice so beautiful

Can’t you hear her?

She beckons me to come with her

Like a zombie

She has caught me

Right alongside me

There are many

Children, --oblivious

Just like me

Their appearance

Pure as white

We follow the light

She sings to us

That beautiful voice

Can’t you hear her?

Haven’t you heard?

Why she is so familiar?

She is the voice

The voice we all have heard

In our dreams

As we slept

The voice that sang to us as we wept

I wept as I recalled

She is the voice that is called Mom

Don’t you remember?
