Under the dim gray reign of George the First,
prosperity, for us, was not well versed.
Under the reign of his son, George the Second,
we had recession that some scholars reckoned
was only, very slightly, not the worst
we ever had. So let this prayer be heard
above: we do not need some George the Third.
