At A Dark Moment On Golgotha

Your hope wholly collapsed as Jesus died.
Your expectations shattered at His death.
Defeat was final when they crucified
this godly carpenter from Nazareth.
For some time, you had entertained a plan,
but no one can depend upon a man.
High priest and procurator were unfit,
like Judas was, to turn His will from it.
He did not quibble with them, quake, nor quail.
He saw it through conclusion without fail.
And, even worse, He will not be long dead.
Busy He will be, with much graceful care
to set right what has been in disrepair
since you first asked, in Eden, "Hath God said?"

Author's Notes/Comments:

I believe that one of the chief mourners at Golgotha was the devil himself.  The successful crucifixion of Christ ensured the plan of Salvation, and the devil's defeat; therefore, I doubt the devil was pleased by the Crucifixion.
