Today

Yesterday froze your pain
      while everything and
      everyone flourished
      right before your eyes-
Your yesterday was
      a still picture of unlearning
      and disguised lies

Tomorrow petrifies your hope
     while everything and
     all the creatures of God
     in your precognition change-
Your tomorrow is just a blind
     anticipation of you yet again
     refusing to rearrange

Today is the future
     of your yesterday's bitterness
     and the yesterday of your
     tomorrow's nothingness
Your today is torn apart
     now that you're giving in
     to your own frailty
     while you turn your back behind
     the glory of now-
Blind to what you have withstood and survived
Denied yourself strength the way only you
     will ever know how...
