Rainsong

Kingdom of heaven's kindling embers burn bright.

Roaring thunderheads wrapped in the warm blankets of night

Intemperate lightning turns dark eve to day

Slow shifting the world in its wind driven sway.

Tearing open the sweaty palm of summertime's heat these

Young lovers in passion's irreverence meet.

Melting like their rain soaked, chain choked desire

Unleashing in ferocity this Augustine fire

Languishing in quick-stroked lovemaking's grip

Leaping to drown slowly in a sea of wet lips.

Intermittent flashes cast in natural mold

Nighttime's sculpture frozen in gold

Saying the words their bodies foretold

Soaked and sated as heaven's embers burn cold

Nearer the storm charges

Into erotic's domain.

Loving the lightning

Laughing faces in rain

"Umbrellas be damned!",

Male then female exclaim.

Young lovers doubtless,

Touch again and again.

Sailing over the crest of sensuality's peak

Incendiary bodies EXPLODE, then fall weak.

Roaring thunderheads rest now purring in the night as

Kindling embers of heaven burn peacefully bright.
