A Life of Liberty

Older Poems

A flag is at Half Mast

So Who’s died today?

I can’t help but wonder,

As I kneel to pray.

God, please send a blessing

To all of those soldiers,

Fighting so hard for me.

Please send them my love,

My yearning for their safety,

As they make the world

A better place to live.

God, Please rest their souls

The ones that have gone.

The ones who did their best,

To simply make my life,

And everyone else’s

A Life of Liberty.

A Life of Freedom,

A Life of Choice.

God, please bless the soldiers,

The ones who must fight.

The ones just trying to show,

That the world can be all right.

God, soften the hearts

Of the ones who would kill them,

They have families too.

We just want to help them,

Can’t you please tell them

That’s all we’re trying to do.

God, thank you for everything,

For sending these good men.

Thank you for giving them

A home to fight for,

Families to love,

And last of all,

A Life of Liberty

Where you God,

Can show your true colors.
