Letter from the "Silent"

Folder:
Spoken Word

Silence.
It’s all we seemingly can muster ourselves to do.
It’s a reflection of ourselves.
How we feel, our thoughts, joys and regrets.
It’s our Silence.
To you who question our silence, with “are you okay?” and “what’s wrong?” just because we are silent.
Our silence is a scream in pain or sorrow that is so high pitched and loud humans can no longer hear it.
Or if they can, they do nothing to help quiet it.
Silent.
It’s a million thoughts running through our minds at such a speed that we can’t do anything but be
Silent.
It’s our way of saying that we’re here to listen to the pain you wish to share with us,
So we can offer our wisdom.
It’s our way of memorizing the little things in life.
Silently observing our surrounding.
We’re silent.
