My grandfather’s old chair

My grandfather was a great man, he was funny and kind, a loving husband and father, a great family man. He, was also a hard worker, he had a job at a small supermarket, at a restaurant, a clothing store and on the weekends, he would drive a cab. Sadly, I dint really get to see all of this, most of the things I know about my grandfather are things that my uncles, aunts and older cousins tell me about him, this is because by the time I was born he was already too old and had lost some of his motor skills like the ability to speak and walk.

I mostly remember my grandfather sitting in the Livingroom on this big old brown rooking chair, eating or watching t.v.

On every weekend he would be there, on every party, Christmas and new year, sitting on that chair.

When I was younger I used to visit my grandparents very often, almost every weekend, and almost the entire family would do the same, we would spend the entire day in the Livingroom next to my grandfather, watching sports and stuff like that.

It’s been 10 years since he died and I miss him a lot, visiting my grandmother’s house is definitely not the same without him around. However, its very nice to see the chair each time I visit, still on that same old spot its always been. It reminds me off all those holidays I spent in that house, with all my family and people I love. And now that I think about it I really miss that, I can’t remember when was the last time there was a party in that house and it’s been for ever since I have gone to that place that I actually wonder if the chair is still there.
