Our Love

Zealous acts,

of foolish nature

Alarming behaviours,

of a lover near.

Captivator of my heart,

the keeper of my soul.

To tear myself apart,

please hold me close dear.

The way we connect, in every possible way.

Amazing no doubt, scary it is too.

Like a whirlwind, you twirl me round.

Into the web of your love, I had fallen deep.

The speed of loving you, I was unnerved.

Yet I have confidence in us.

The rate of being loved, I was cherished.

Yet I have my reservations.

Like tango dance steps,

You took a step forward,

And I took one back.

Unknowingly I had drifted from you.

Perhaps you did too.

A grasp beyond my reach.

I reached out and air touched me.

In nothingness I fell.

Control all but beyond me.

Unreachable are those arms once around me,

Unloved am I whose lost soul am searching.

For a love so deep not learnt to cherish.

For what was once mine was no longer mine.
