Footnote: Historical Contrasts

[inspired by a Haiku in Brendan's book, haikus and sh*t]

While Rome burnt, Nero

strummed his lyre; Hartley played his

violin while the

Titanic sank:  two minds, two

Author's Notes/Comments:

I admired mononymic Brendan's poetic achievement, although I regret his choice for the title, which I have reproduced here exactly as the book shows it---the asterisk being his, not mine.

In memory of Wallace Hartley, June 2, 1878 to April 15, 1912.
