Corporate Intrigue

We use words like "committment," "passion," "drive"

to keep the corporate deceit alive:

that these virtues guide us for their own sake,

and not just for the profit we can take.

Our only purpose is to make more money,

because what we have never is enough.

Our stockholders always demand "some more,"

so our good customers must buy "more stuff."

Truth told, our company is like a whore:

as long as toxic functions can keep going,

those high debt dollars we desire keep flowing

in, and those virtues which we are pretending

will keep our cash-cattle intent on spending.

The whole process is really rather funny.
