The China Doll

She stands in a glass box

unaware of the world

The people are moving

and she is only watching

Orange to blue and yellow to black

the sky changes

Not blinking not moving

she doesn't change at all

Passing by are those she loves

unfamiliar of her entrapment

The China Doll's frozen smile

seems to decieve them all

Stuck in time

her heart wills her to leave

But her legs won't let her

She is tied to her stand

feeling she is for display only

Her fears of loneliness and abandonment

seem to be coming true

The China Doll doesn't move

Author's Notes/Comments:

I feel like I have spent so much of my life like this.   It's crazy sometimes because the people that seem so close to you don't even notice.
