Friendship

To no one could I run.

As tears fell from my eyes,

The soft murmur of rain

Fell from the skys.

Out in the rain

I quickly ran scared.

I heard my heart thump,

"You'd best be bewared."

Running fast as I could

Through puddles I splashed,

Seeming to dodge

The lightening that flashed.

I heard the tires screech

As a car lost control

And my destination

Could I almost behold.

My body soon lay

Flat on the floor

Broken and bleeding.

My life was no more.

As I am buried,

All faces are dry.

This seems unusul,

So you ask, "Why?"

They never knew me

Nor took the time.

This is why

I write this rhyme.

Any word of friendship

Never had they said.

Now they can't,

For I am dead.
