the melody makes my heart sing
and flourishes with memories it brings
a memory of a time where happiness could be found
a memory of a time where there was nothing but sound
a touch of a hand and the feel of a kiss
i never imagined the relief of this
a melody or a song
over 10 million minutes long
the notes roll down my chest
some of them absorb
and it makes me want to watch and stare
at all the memories I've ignored
the time i gave my heart to you
the time it slipped and fell
the time i suffered in so much pain
when in reality all was well
the lyrics are a story
one i know could easily sell
a story of pain, happiness, sorrow, and.. love
my life is the story they tell
i never knew a song could be
as beautiful as i hear
but maybe; irritatingly perfect
could be something that i fear
a melody of chimes and echoes
a mirrored image of the pain
the sound will be lowered; so i will not hear
and continue to go.. insane
